Whether you are decorating or redecorating, the bedroom is one room that the adults want to be comfortable and functional at the same time, and the right bedroom lamps will help you achieve all of the moods that you desire. For instance, if you have windows, it's nice to be able to use some of the natural light that is available, but you cannot rely on that. It's important to get a subdued type of light to help you wind down and get a good night's sleep, but then when you are getting dressed and ready to face the day, you will need a strong light. Most people prefer separate bedroom lamps for either side of the bed which is useful when one of you wants to read or watch TV and the other wants to sleep. There are several ways to do that also you can either mount them on the wall or the bed frame (if it will accommodate) or select simply gorgeous lamps for the bedside tables. If you have a comfort or reading chair in the room, a unique floor lamp would be perfect to spice up that area.
- First and foremost, if you have younger children make sure to child proof all sockets, etc.
- Place a dimmer switch on the main light to create instant atmosphere.
- Place a switch by the door and also make it controllable from the bed so you don't have to get up to turn it off.
- Dressing tables need to be horizontally lit from both sides otherwise you'll see shadows across your face.
- Do not use candles in the bedroom unless they are safety surrounded in case you fall asleep while they're burning.
- Choose clear bulbs to give off warm tones of light in accent areas.
- Use fairy lights or ceiling lights for fun!
- Install a voice-activated light switch so you don't have to get out of bed to turn the table lamp it on and off.
The tips above can be used on teen rooms, for boys, girls, ands even their parents!
