Lithonia Lighting is the biggest producer of light fixtures and other lighting products for commercial, industrial, indoor and exterior uses. They have plants all over North America including, Mexico, Canada and the USA.
The Lithonia Lighting company was started by Sam Freeman in 1946. It all came together in a town called you guessed it, Lithonia in the state of Georgia. Starting off they manufactured a variety of fluorescent, as well as incandescent light fixtures for commercial, industrial, as well as residential use.
In 1961 Lithonia became a publicly-owned company. With the money that was available from becoming a public company they expanded and grew the company.
As time progressed, in 1988 they also expanded their product line to include exterior and outdoor products.
They haven't stopped there, Lithonia has been buying up their competition and other lighting manufacturers, such as, Lumaid and Hydrel.
